There has apparently been some confusion about the new law that was passed in Texas prohibiting employers from restricting their employees from storing firearms in their vehicle while parked in their workplace parking lot. It's really pretty straight forward, unless, like a good number of Booker residents do, you work in the oil and gas industry. It seems that the new law does not apply on oil or gas leases if the lease contains provisions prohibiting possession of firearms on the leased property. I know for many workers in the oil field, visiting several leases in one day is not an unusual set of circumstances. In that case, it would be impossible for one to have knowledge of the existence (or lack thereof) of firearm prohibiting provisions for every lease they visit, making it very hard for a person who frequently visits oil and gas leases to legally carry a firearm in their vehicle.
